ALLTHINGSMEDIAIn an age when a great idea and a URL can become a business worth hundreds of millions of dollars, where do you go to find the next Facebook, YouTube, Sesame Street, or Google? Cohosted by Springboard Enterprises and the She Made It initiative from The Paley Center for Media, ALLTHINGSMEDIA is a venture capital forum showcasing investment-ready, high-growth media companies led by women. On October 30, 2008, twenty-two women entrepreneurs pitched their businesses to an overflow audience of investors—angels, VCs, and business development executives from the major media companies. CBS, NBC, Disney, Google, Comcast, and hundreds of others were on hand to listen to the presentations and network with the entrepreneurs to discuss potential financial backing. Major venture capitalists like Alan Patricof and Scott Kurnit joined Hearst, Hachette, and SoftBank Capital along with many others who were impressed with the wide range of businesses presented and the caliber of the CEOs and founders on the stage. Cohost: Springboard Enterprises Venture-catalyst Springboard Enterprises is the go-to organization for supporting high-growth ventures led by women. Springboard educates and showcases women entrepreneurs as they seek equity capital and scale their businesses—360 women-led companies in the Springboard portfolio have already raised over $4 billion in equity, grants, and strategic investments. |
