Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. Part one of two. This program presents a television adaptation of a play about three left-wing intellectuals who meet in an Adirondacks cabin in the years 1927 and 1986. In 1927, Edward and Elinor are a married couple who are joined by Marianne; the three aspire to obtain funding for their left-wing magazine. The three intellectuals and recent graduates are abandoned in the cabin by their wealthy host, and in the isolated space they are forced to confront their differences. Nearly half a century later, in 1986, the three have become prominent intellectuals, and they meet again in the same cabin. Edward is now married to Marianne, who is suing Elinor for slander. Their meeting is one intended for business, but the gathering becomes an opportunity to recall memories and to explore a lifetime of interactions and political conflicts. Continues with T:24131.
