Craig Hitchcock Named Vice President and Executive Director of The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

New York and Los Angeles—Pat Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio), announced today that Craig Hitchcock is joining the institution as vice president and executive director of the Los Angeles Paley Center as of January 12, 2009.

‘We feel very fortunate to have identified the right executive to step into the leadership role in Los Angeles, a role that has been filled so ably for seven years by Barbara Dixon, who is retiring in early January. The transition will be timely to ensure that The Paley Center for Media in LA continues to strengthen its dual mission to provide programs of value and relevancy for both the media industry and media consumers. Craig brings experience and expertise in both sectors, with strong contacts in the industry and a proven track record with media enthusiasts and consumers. We are anticipating that his innovative ideas, energy, and enthusiasm will generate new directions and drive new growth in the Paley Center’s reach and impact.”

Most recently Hitchcock was the director of sales at the Hollywood Reporter. Previously he was a group publisher for home entertainment and retail at Reed Business Information, where he was responsible for the overall business development and ad revenue performance for numerous publications within the company. Hitchcock has been with Reed Business Information since 1996 starting as West Coast Sales Director at Broadcasting & Cable and then held several positions at Daily Variety and Variety in the following years. Stepping away from Reed Business Information in 2005, Hitchcock also served as director of business development, Entertainment and Media at Pricewaterhouse Coopers before returning to the publishing company in 2006 until last spring when he joined the Hollywood Reporter.
