Peter Buffett in Concert and Conversation; with Dinner at CORE: club
Monday, April 21 Multimedia musician Peter Buffett is an acclaimed composer for advertising (MTV promo spots); television documentaries (500 Nations); and theatrical films (Dances with Wolves fire-dance sequence). He will review his musical and philanthropic endeavors, including his work with Native Americans and West Africans, and share his insight into what it was like to grow up in the surprisingly normal household of his father, Warren Buffett.
Following the event, Producers Circle members will enjoy dinner at CORE: club at 66 East 55th Street.
George Gershwin and Kay Swift: An Evening of Song and Television Live Performances by
Christine Ebersole, Klea Blackhurst, and Jimmy Ray Bennett
Thursday, May 15 Tony Awardwinner Christine Ebersole and other Broadway stars will be at the Paley Center to perform the songs of George Gershwin and Kay Swift, the first woman to write a complete score for a Broadway musical (Fine and Dandy). Musical director Aaron Gandy will provide commentary—interspersed with rare radio and television clips from the Paley Center's collection—on how the lives of these two songwriters intersected in the twenties and thirties.
Nice 'n' Easy: The Lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman
Wednesday, May 21 In a partnership spanning more than fifty years, lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman have proven themselves a formidable presence in all media. In addition to working with such musical giants as Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra; they have provided the unforgettable theme songs for such series as Maude and Good Times; and collaborated on the Emmy-winning television movie Queen of the Stardust Ballroom. The Bergmans will discuss their career and Alan will perform some of the songs that made them famous.

A Salute to Charles Strouse
Monday, June 2 The Paley Center will pay tribute to the composer on the occasion of his eightieth birthday. It's an evening of rare television footage, a live piano performance by Strouse, and a panel discussion with stars and other associates from his many Broadway shows (including Bye Bye Birdie, Golden Boy, Applause, Annie, and Rags) and his music for film and television—most notably the iconic theme song from All in the Family.
