  • Lots of great eps to choose from. I voted for Walkabout, because I feel it is one of the best hours of television ever. I've read Ebert's rules, so i know what it means to call something the best ever, lol. That episode had one of the best reveals that I've seen. At that point in the show, I did not see something that fantasic happening. It also helped shed light on why Locke was so strange. After the ep aired, I thought Locke was a great character and still think that after 4 seasons. The Constant is a good episode, but I hope Walkabout gets its chance as well.

  • Mirm, I'm really surprised at how many people are choosing "The Constant" -- if you look at the results, you'll see that over 70% of the votes cast are for this episode. Is it because people are so moved by the Desmond-Penny story, or is it something else?

  • Some many wonderful episodes - its very hard to choose just two. First chocie is the "The Pilot" because that's the episode that brought me here and kept me here. It is the most interesting hour of television ever. (IMO, of course). Second choice is "Through the Looking Glass" because it took an incredible show in a different direction and surprised almost everyone. However, my heart still belongs to "The Constant" even though I did not select it as one of my two choices.

  • Bilbo (Baggins?), you make a really strong argument for "Exodus, Part 1." I also really like that brief farewell between Jack and Sawyer. I think "Exodus, Part 2" is also very strong -- I remember colleagues here saying "How are they going to write their way out of that one?"

  • I'm voting for the Pilot because it's the best hour of television ever-no contest! Secondly Exodus part1 basically sets up the whole show for the next few seasons. We've had hints about the "others" up until then but as they were trying to get the raft in the water and then saw the black smoke, there was an imperious doom on the horizon...totally spine tingling!

  • Both great suggestions, thanks. There are so many good episodes it was tough to stop at 30. Don't hate me, but I still go with "Dave" as the best Hurley episode.

  • SPOILERS BELOW: It comes as a shock to me that you have not listed by far my favorite episode, "Numbers!" Season 1, Episode 18. That is the one where we first find out about 4 8 15 16 23 and 42, and Hurley's Curse for using those numbers to win the Lottery. Live Together, Die Alone was also a great episode, but seriously... Numbers... seriously...

  • I'd like to cast a vote for "Three Minutes" season 2, episode 19, where Michael goes after Walt for a second time and finally catches up with him, which is, I believe, the first flashback that still takes place on the island, and also contains what I consider to be the high-water mark for acting in a very well-acted series: Harold Perrineau's achingly desperate scene with Walt.
