Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group

Kevin Reilly was named president, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company in July 2007. Reilly is responsible for driving the company’s creative vision and growth strategies, overseeing digital and social media initiatives, and supervising all series and program development for the only network in broadcast history to win seven consecutive seasons.

 

Throughout his career, Reilly has distinguished himself as one of television’s most influential and forward-thinking leaders. On the creative front, Reilly has championed some of TV’s most successful and critically celebrated series, including “The Office,” “30 Rock,” “The Sopranos,” “The Shield” and “ER.”  Under Reilly’s leadership, FOX launched Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning comedy phenomenon GLEE, the No. 1 new scripted series of the 2009-10 season. Most recently, FOX introduced NEW GIRL, the network’s highest-rated sitcom in 10 years and THE X FACTOR, this season’s No. 1 new unscripted series.

 

Reilly previously served as President of Entertainment at NBC, where he introduced and oversaw the development of popular hits such as “The Office,” “The Biggest Loser,” “Heroes,” “Friday Night Lights” and multi-award winning Tina Fey sitcom “30 Rock.”  Prior to his tenure at NBC, Reilly served as President of Entertainment for FX, where he successfully transformed FX from a fledgling cable network into a profitable creative powerhouse. At FX, Reilly re-defined the basic cable business by branding the network with an aggressive slate of original quality programs including seminal series “The Shield,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Rescue Me.” 

 

Within a year of Reilly’s arrival, FX made cable history when “The Shield” broke cable ratings records and went on to receive a Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Series (2002) and an Emmy Award for lead actor Michael Chiklis (2002) – both firsts for basic cable. Prior to joining FX, Mr. Reilly was President of Brad Grey Television, the television production arm of Brillstein-Grey Entertainment. He joined Brillstein-Grey in 1994 and was responsible for shepherding the pilot for the landmark series “The Sopranos” - one of the most successful and critically acclaimed shows in television history - and the NBC hit comedies “Just Shoot Me” and “NewsRadio.”

 

Early in his career, Reilly held a variety of positions at NBC Entertainment, where he had a hand in the development of distinctive and groundbreaking hits including the pilots of “ER,” “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Law & Order.” 

Reilly is an avid conservationist who serves as a Trustee on the California Board of the Nature Conservancy and as a board member of the Environmental Media Association. He is also VP of the Friends of the Los Angeles Free Clinic, and a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization.  

 

A graduate of Cornell University, Reilly is a member of the Cornell University Council, where he helps mobilize alumni to take part in initiatives that will benefit the University in the future.

Reilly lives in Pacific Palisades, CA with his wife and three sons.
