Best known to TV viewers as Napoleon Solo, the debonair spy from The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Robert Vaughn is an accomplished guy—an Academy Award–nominated actor with a distinguished career in stage, television, and film (The Young Philadelphians, The Magnificent Seven, Bullitt) and a Ph.D. in communications from the University of Southern California, where he wrote a dissertation on blacklisting that was published as a book in 1972. Politically engaged, Vaughn was also a key figure in the antiwar movement of the 60s (and once appeared on Firing Line to debate William F. Buckley on the subject) and was a close friend of Robert F. Kennedy.
Join Vaughn for an evening of clips and discussion to commemorate the release of his new book, A Fortunate Life, touted as “a remarkable and delightful memoir of a life spent in the uppermost circles of acting, politics, and the world.”
