Elaine Malbin portrayed Puccini's Suor Angelica twice on NBC Opera Theatre telecasts in the 1950s. We will screen the March 7, 1953, telecast (in an English translation), which features Winifred Heidt as the Principessa. This will be followed by an excerpt from the December 5, 1954, telecast with mezzo-soprano Shannon Bolin as the Principessa. Peter Herman Adler conducted and Kirk Browning directed both telecasts. After the screening, noted author Eric Myers will interview Elaine Malbin and Shannon Bolin.
