About Hot Potato

Hot Potato connected friends and fans around live events.  It built tools for real-time social collaboration among groups who shared an interest in any event or experience as it was happening.  Hot Potato described itself in this way:  “Whether checking in, recording your perspective, or just enjoying others contributions, it’s more fun to participate in events with Hot Potato.”  In August 2010, Hot Potato was acquired by Facebook.

Justin Shaffer is founder and CEO of Hot Potato Media, Inc. Hot Potato is a real-time social collaboration tool centered around events and experiences as they are happening. Before Shaffer founded Hot Potato, he was SVP of New Media at MLB Advanced Media LP. Today, Justin Shaffer works for Facebook.
