ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET, THE: GAG REEL FROM "RICK'S WEDDING PICTURE" EPISODE & "STUDY SYSTEM" EPISODE
Summary
The second of two programs on this tape. A gag reel has been composed of outtakes from “Study System,” the Sept. 30, 1964 episode of “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” a long-running domestic comedy series about the real-life Nelson family: Ozzie Nelson and his wife Harriet Hilliard, a former band leader and band singer respectively, and their two sons, David and Ricky. The reel begins with a scene of Skip Young, who plays Wally, in the aftermath of getting a pie in the face. Then, Ozzie explains about the “unrehearsed and completely accidental humor” behind outtakes of "Rick's "Wedding Photo," the Jan 22, 1964 episode dealing with Rick's attempt to reenact a picture from his wedding. An outtake shows Rick and Skip having an accident while trying to enter a closet to look for the photos. Next are outtakes from “Study System,” the Sept. 30, 1964 episode dealing with Wally’s idea to study for tests by hanging upside down in a fraternity closet while eating sardines. Scenes of Skip flubbing his lines are followed by a scene of Skip having an accident while trying to hang in the closet.
