NBC MONDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: AN EARLY FROST (TV)
Summary
In this made-for-television movie, a successful young lawyer, Michael Pierson, contracts AIDS and finds that he must finally confront his traditional family with his homosexual lifestyle. Michael returns home for his parents' thirtieth wedding anniversary. Eventually, he finds the courage to tell his family that he is gay and that he is dying.
Michael receives the following responses from his immediate family: his mother is shocked to learn that he is gay, but is too concerned with his physical condition to dwell on the matter; his father cannot accept the fact that he is gay; his sister does not want her children near him for fear that they may contract AIDS; and his grandmother is totally comfortable with his homosexuality but worried about his health. As Michael deals with going to the hospital for treatments, his family becomes AIDS-educated and learns to cope with the truth. Meanwhile, Michael's unfaithful ex-lover, who infected him with the AIDS virus, attempts to patch up their relationship.
