SOPRANOS, THE: EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH (TV)

Summary

One in this darkly comic, dramatic series centering around the crime empire and family life of Tony Soprano, a modern-day Mafia boss. The episode begins with Irina calling Tony, begging him to get Janice to give back the prosthetic leg she stole from Irina's sister. Next, Melfi's on-again, off-again husband Richard chastises her for considering taking Tony back as a patient. Worried, Melfi goes to her therapist Elliot where she determines that she must be "charmed by a sociopath." Tony goes to see Janice, asking her to give back the leg and telling her to beware of "the Russians." Meanwhile, Ralphie and Jackie Jr. go out for a night of bonding which ends with the two of them beating up a delinquent "customer" and stealing his money. The next day Tony is surprised to find out that Johnny Sack has moved into new digs in New Jersey. Then, Melfi tells Tony that she thinks it is time for him to move on to another therapist. That night, as Melfi leaves her office, she is raped in the parking garage stairwell. The rapist is found, but, shockingly, the police let him walk. Meanwhile, the Russians pay a forceful visit to Janice, prompting her to retrieve the leg from the bowling alley locker where she was hiding it. The episode ends with Melfi having nightmares about her rapist, and considering employing Tony to assuage her fears.
