Summary

Part three of this 10-part series of documentaries about the role man plays in the society of nature and the process of evolution. In this part, host David Bellamy, a biologist, visits the Peru trench off the coast of South America to examine the sea's ecosystem. Highlights of this part include footage and discussion of the following: microscopic plankton; the ocean floor; anchovy fishing; birds of prey; the mating rituals of various sea birds, including the booby; bird fertilizer; and sea plant life.
