JON STEWART SHOW, THE {PAUL PROVENZA, JAMES LEGROS, CURTIS WILLIAMS, JR., I MOTHER EARTH} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by Jon Stewart. In this installment, Stewart is joined by comedian Paul Provenza; actor James LeGros; actor Curtis Williams, Jr.; and rock group I Mother Earth. After a monologue filled with jokes about stereos, Stewart introduces comedian Paul Provenza, who comments on the freedom to urinate wherever one wishes in New York City; explains why he likes doing jokes about death and religion; compares Jesus Christ to Frank Sinatra, Jr.; discusses his former cable talk show, "Comics Only"; and wonders whether he is too famous still to be able to masturbate in a movie theater. As the interview concludes, Stewart calls the Psychic Friends Network to chat; he and Provenza receive readings. Next, by manipulating Pez dispensers, Stewart performs the "No Money Playhouse" production of Arthur Miller's American tragedy, "Death of a Salesman." The second guest, actor James LeGros, mentions that he owns a white Ford Bronco -- the getaway vehicle favored by ex-gridiron great/murder suspect O.J. Simpson; recalls an agent who recommended that he have plastic surgery; views footage from his forthcoming film, "Floundering"; and comments on working with Drew Barrymore in the remake of the 1949 film, "Gun Crazy." Rock group I Mother Earth then performs "So Gently We Go." The final guest is bubbly seven-year-old actor Curtis Williams, Jr., who talks about appearing in the film "Corinna, Corinna" and sightseeing in New York City. I Mother Earth performs over the closing credits. Commercials deleted.
