SEE IT NOW: THE SECRET LIFE OF DANNY KAYE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of current events documentary programs, hosted by Edward R. Murrow. This ninety-minute special features Danny Kaye as ambassador-at-large for UNICEF, in which he travels across Europe and Africa entertaining handicapped and underprivileged children. He discusses trachoma in Morocco with Dr. Luke Duliere and conducts the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Tel Aviv. He inspects a milk pasteurizing plant in Yugoslavia and watches the Yugoslavian Ballet's "Dance of the Little Dolls." Next, Kaye is seen in clips of visits with various heads of state, and continues with a pantomimist in Israel and a children's ballet in Ankara, Turkey. Kaye visits Nigeria, where he views a ceremonial procession and discusses leprosy with Dr. Charles Ross. As the program closes, Murrow and Kaye discuss the trip. Includes commercials.
