MUPPET SHOW, THE {BERNADETTE PETERS} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy/variety programs featuring Jim Henson's Muppets, and hosted by the group's genial emerald ringleader, Kermit the Frog. In this episode, Kermit opens the show with a duet of "How Could You Believe Me" with Miss Mousy; guest star Bernadette Peters attempts to teach three shaggy, ungainly monsters how to dance gracefully; Rowlf, as the orthopedic surgeon Dr. Bob, tries to operate on a shoe in an installment of "Veterinarian's Hospital"; Sam the Eagle reads a revisionist version of the fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper"; Peters and Kermit, along with the other Muppets, sing "If Just One Person Believes in You" to encourage Kermit's nephew, Robin, to be more self-confident; Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant, Beaker, demonstrate some properties of a new element, Bunsonium; and Peters performs an upbeat bluegrass tune with the Muppet band.
