Summary

This comedy special, presented at Igby's Comedy Cabaret in Los Angeles, and hosted by Jonathan Winters, includes stand-up routines by Franklin Ajaye, Louise DuArt, and Jeff Altman. Winters begins the evening with a story about pulling into a parking space reserved for the handicapped at the supermarket, and follows with comments about his forty-year marriage and "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood." Next, Winters introduces Franklin Ajaye who remarks on the following topics: the pitfalls of doing comedy at a blues club; "The People's Court"; the Iranian justice system; Middle-Eastern terrorists; and the Jamaican bobsled team that competed at the Winter Olympics. Winters returns as a cruise-ship captain who abandoned his passengers when his ship went aground, and then introduces Louise DuArt. DuArt does impressions of Shelley Winters, Barbara Walters, Katharine Hepburn, Henry and Jane Fonda, Joan Rivers, "Edith Bunker," Carol Burnett, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Barbra Streisand, "Popeye," George Burns, Gracie Allen, and others. Winters takes the stage again as his famous old-lady character "Maude Frickert," and introduces Jeff Altman, who offers humorous commentary on the following topics: phony television evangelists; the National Enquirer; Johnny Carson; newlywed sex versus sex in the later years of marriage; Dr. Ruth Westheimer; himself as a drunken teen on a date; his father's bad driving; and how differently men and women behave during sex.
