UGLY BETTY: THE LYIN', THE WATCH AND THE WARDROBE (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy-drama series about Betty Suarez, a young Queens woman trying to make it in the fashion industry despite her unglamorous appearance.
In this episode, it's Halloween, and Marc shows up to work in his best Ugly Betty costume. Meanwhile, Betty investigates why her father's Social Security records shows that he's 117 years old -- and dead. Also, Wilhelmina gets publicly criticized for "robbing the cradle" by dating a younger man, causing her to reevaluate her lifestyle and appearance. At the same time, Bradford looks into who is trying to ruin him by sending Fey's music box to Daniel.
At work, Betty -- who shows up at Mode in a bee costume after being set up by co-workers -- finds herself increasingly attracted to Henry from accounting. In addition, she's assigned to locate a woman -- one of many -- that Daniel slept with the previous week who may have his precious watch. Finally, Betty has to deal with Walter having just invited her to move in with him. Meanwhile, Daniel visits a rehabilitation center to see his mother, questioning her on Bradford's relationship with Fey, the Christmas they both got music boxes from him, and whether Bradford is capable of murder.
Eventually, it turns out that Amanda is hiding Daniel's watch, hurt over the way she has been treated by him. Also, Wilhelmina is unable to fit into her ball gown due to a slight weight gain, forcing her to take extreme measures to become "ten years younger and five pounds thinner." Ultimately, Betty tries to make Daniel realize that his roguish lifestyle may be harming some people, before Betty makes some relationship decisions of her own. Elsewhere, Amanda strikes out with Daniel while Wilhelmina gets ready to reunite with her boy-toy, at least until her twenty-something daughter Nico arrives. Finally, Ignacio reveals to Betty that he doesn't have a legitimate Social Security card because he is an illegal immigrant. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned.
