Summary
Continued from T88:0104. Part two of three parts of
this Royal Shakespeare Company adaptation of
Shakespeare's comedy about the chaotic collision of the
mortal and the fairy worlds. In this segment, which
includes Act III, scene 2, through Act V, scene 1,
Bottom (Rogers), now transformed into an ass, is wooed
by the bewitched Titania (Dench). The four lovers
pursue each other in confusion. Oberon (Richardson)
rights the miscast spells of the night. The Duke of
Athens invites the dazed lovers to join in his nuptial
with Hippolyta. Bottom and a group of Athenian workmen
entertain the Duke and the wedding party with a play.
