Musical Theatre on Film: A Master Class with Baz Luhrmann

Sep 30, 2010
7:00 PM ET
New York

Auteur Baz Luhrmann (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, and the Tony Award–winning production of La Bohème)—whose films have had a direct effect on pop culture, fashion, and cinematic innovation—will show clips of his work and talk about his creative process. Subjects to be discussed include the challenges in making a “contemporary” adaptation of a classic work, and transferring musical theater performance from stage to film.

This public master class is part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s Educational Series.

This event is part of the Robert M. Batscha University Seminar Series
