Celebrating Media & Artists as Agents of Change

An Evening with Eve Ensler

Jun 1, 2011
6:30 PM ET
New York

Pat Mitchell will interview artist/activist and V-Day founder Eve Ensler to explore her use of theater, TV, music, and photographs to document, motivate, and fund antiviolence work everywhere. Clips from Ensler's work in the Paley Center Collection will be screened, including the groundbreaking The Vagina Monologues, Until the Violence Stops for Lifetime, and What I Want My Words to Do To You for POV about a prison writing program.

Ensler will be the recipient of the Isabelle Stevenson Award at this year's Tony Awards on June 12. The Isabelle Stevenson Award recognizes an individual from the theater community who has made a substantial contribution of volunteered time and effort on behalf of one or more humanitarian, social service, or charitable organizations.

The evening will conclude with Ensler in
monologue performance from her new
best-selling book and play, I Am an
Emotional Creature
