Shark Tank: Pursuing the American Dream in Prime Time

ABC’s Emmy Award–winning and critically acclaimed Shark Tank has inspired entrepreneurs around the country to chase the American dream of owning their own business and potentially securing business deals that could make them millionaires. As the popular Friday night series begins its eighth season, several of the successful Sharks will discuss the most lucrative companies in which they invested, how the program has introduced innovative business practices to family viewers, and how Shark Tank has inspired a groundswell of entrepreneurship in this country. Shark Tank has made business interesting and entertaining to a wide audience, especially among kids. This culturally defining series has become appointment television viewing for parents and their children because of its consistently positive messages. Since it premiered in 2009, Shark Tank has received numerous awards, including the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Reality Series and the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Structured Reality Program. Highlights of the series will be screened, and the panelists will also entertain questions from the audience.
