Behind the Seams: Fashion and TV

Dec 12, 2017

TV has always had a tremendous impact on fashion—everyone knows the chestnut about JFK destroying the men’s hat industry with his bare-headed inauguration—and in recent years, shows like Project Runway and Running in Heels have brought an unprecedented level of attention to the process of clothing design, as well as its cultural impact.

Our red carpet-worthy panelists will discuss the ways in which they have used television to inform the audience about the nuts and bolts of fashion as both an industry and art form, television’s role in bringing greater cultural relevance and attention to fashion, and the effect these television programs have had on the fashion industry itself.
