Too Marvelous for Words: The Music of Johnny Mercer

With Live Performances

Join us in a centennial celebration of Johnny Mercer—sophisticated and slangy, eloquent and breezy, his lyrics knew no bounds. This special evening will offer Mercer favorites in our collection, including “One for My Baby,”  “Moon River,” and “Blues in the Night,” from such immortal entertainers as Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, and Frank Sinatra. Current performers Klea Blackhurst, Steve Ross, and Anna Bergman will bring the Mercer songbook to life on our stage.

Collaborators on the new book The Complete Lyrics of Johnny Mercer, Barry Day and Robert Kimball, will be on hand, along with TCM host Robert Osborne.

Funding for this event has been provided by the Johnny Mercer Foundation.

For a private dinner with the panelists, join us for PALEYAFTERDARK.
