A veteran of both traditional and new media ventures, Jeff Jarvis is the creator of one of the Web's most popular and respected blogs about the Internet and media, Buzzmachine.com. He is associate professor and director of the interactive journalism program at the City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism, and is consulting editor of Daylife, a news startup. Jarvis recently published the book What Would Google Do?, a look at forty clear and straightforward rules to manage and live by, inspired by the fastest-growing company in history. He also writes a new media column for The Guardian in London and previously was president and creative director of Advance.net, the online arm of Advance Publications. Prior to that, Jarvis was creator and founding editor of Entertainment Weekly; Sunday editor and associate publisher of the New York Daily News; TV critic for TV Guide and People; and a columnist on the San Francisco Examiner. In 2007 and 2008, he was named one of 100 worldwide media leaders by the World Economic Forum at Davos.
