MTR PaleyFest '07

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Los Angeles, CA—The Museum of Television & Radio will present the twenty-fourth annual William S. Paley Television Festival from March 1 to 15, 2007. This Festival, named for William S. Paley, founder of both the Museum and CBS, celebrates television's rich and diverse programming and the creative process behind it. During each evening, the audience views episodes or highlights of the featured work and has the opportunity to ask questions of the cast and creative team or the individual involved in its production. For the first time, the Festival will be honoring a series, The Simpsons, for reaching a rare milestone in prime-time television, the 400th episode, with a celebration of the past 18 seasons and preview of the upcoming summer feature film, The Simpsons Movie.

"MTR's annual William S. Paley Television Festival, now in its 24th year, is a fun, fan-filled celebration of the creative process behind great television," said Pat Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of MTR. "By connecting actors, directors, producers, media personalities, and TV fans in engaging public forums, MTR continues to drive the discussion about the creative and social relevance of television and emerging media in today's world."

Since the first Festival in 1984, MTR has honored nearly three hundred programs, including 24, Alias, Battlestar Galactica, Cheers, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Desperate Housewives, Entourage, The Family Guy, Friends, Grey's Anatomy, The Golden Girls, Gunsmoke, House, The Honeymooners, Laugh-In, Lost, M*A*S*H, My Name Is Earl, The O.C., Roots, Route 66, Sábado Gigante, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Six Feet Under, South Park, thirtysomething, The Untouchables, The West Wing, and The X-Files, along with such personalities as Lucille Ball, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Sally Field, Jane Fonda, John Frankenheimer, Jim Henson, Bob Hope, Angela Lansbury, Jack Lemmon, Mary Martin, Carl Reiner, Gene Roddenberry, Garry Shandling, Flip Wilson, Jonathan Winters, and many others.
