BEVERLY HILLS, CA, OCTOBER 8, 2013 — The Paley Center for Media today announced that it will honor FX Networks with the Paley Prize for Innovation & Excellence at its annual Los Angeles Benefit Gala on Wednesday, October 16 at the Fox Lot (10201 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064). The award-winning cable network will be recognized for its critically-acclaimed programming which consistently impacts the cultural conversation, and its innovative leadership within the media industry.

“FX Networks has evolved into one of today’s most influential, innovative, and yes, fearless, entertainment companies,” said Pat Mitchell, President & CEO of the Paley Center for Media. “Over the years we’ve had the pleasure of honoring the network’s groundbreaking original series including The Shield, Damages, Louie, The Americans, Archer, Sons of Anarchy, and American Horror Story at our annual PaleyFests, and at public programs in New York and Los Angeles, so it’s especially thrilling to now celebrate the extraordinary sum of the network’s creative achievement with our Paley Prize this year.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Paley Center’s preservation and archival digitization efforts, and its ongoing mission to explore the significant impact of media on our culture and society. The Paley Center is home to one of the world’s foremost publicly accessible archives of television, radio and new media content, some 160,000 hours spanning the history of media, from more than seventy countries, capturing almost a century of our shared history.
