Thursday, September 12, 2013

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2013 — The Paley Center for Media unveiled today the list of confirmed speakers for its International Council Summit (IC2013) scheduled for November 21-22 in New York and announced that the event will be keynoted by Google Chairman Eric Schmidt. Under the theme The Data Overthrow, IC2013 will explore and debate the new business, advertising, and distribution models in this age of unprecedented access to information about consumers and the way they interact with content. The increasing volume and detail of information, the rise of multimedia, social media, and mobile ubiquity will fuel this growth in data for the foreseeable future. IC2013 will examine how this growth affects the creative process, disrupts the media industry, and looks at the long-term impact on the industry.

“Depending on your perspective, ‘Big Data’ can mean a goldmine of consumer information, a violation of our privacy, or just the latest buzzword batted around at industry conferences,” said Pat Mitchell, President and CEO of The Paley Center for Media. “Wherever you stand on 'Big Data,' we know the proliferation and collection of data are changing the way we do business; specifically in the media and technology business sector.  This year’s Paley Center International Council Summit will convene a lineup of top industry executives, thought-leaders, innovators, and disruptors who will debate, analyze, and contextualize how data impacts everything from creativity and measurement to regulation and investment.”

The Paley Center’s International Council will convene top executives from the world’s most dynamic and influential media and technology companies who will examine, reconstruct, and reinvent media in the age of big data.
