The Paley Center for Media Unveils The Kissinger Global Conference Room

New York, NY-The Paley Center for Media unveiled The Kissinger Global Conference Room at a reception last night at the Paley Center's Manhattan location. The conference room is named in honor of Dr. Henry A. Kissinger, who has served on the Board of Trustees of the Paley Center since 1991.
The Kissinger Global Conference Room, designed by Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership, is a high-tech, media-based room for teleconferencing, meetings, presentations and discussions. It will serve many purposes for the institution in addition to being the new home for many of the Paley Center's Media Council industry dialogues. The meeting layout includes a forty-person elliptical conference table with built-in teleconferencing, presentation technology with two video projection screens at each end of the room, a full room audio system, three state of the art robotic ceiling-mounted cameras, and microphones for all forty positions at the conference table.
The Kissinger Global Conference room's global motif reflects not only the statesman for whom this space is named, but also the Paley Center's growing role in the international media landscape. Centrally mounted in the room is the Global Media Interactive presented on a sixty-five inch touch-screen monitor. The interactive features a thematic design that emphasizes the dynamics, complexity, and pace of "media information" across the world. The interactive includes a touch-screen program that guides visitors to presentations on the Paley Center's Media and International Councils as well as an additional function that displays four live new feeds from around the world.
The Kissinger Global Conference Room also represents the Paley Center's first steps to green its facilities and operations, and communicate the importance of going green to the international media community. Recycled, recyclable, locally-manufactured materials have been used wherever possible.
