Poking and Jabbing: Writing Political Comedy in an Age of Discord

Oct 29, 2012
12:00 AM
New York

Cancelled for Monday, October 29 because of the storm. Will be rescheduled at another date. Details to come.

“Late at Night, Comedy Gets Pointed and Political,” the New York Times announced in a recent article, asserting that today’s intensely polarized political culture has redefined late-night television comedy. That’s where we come in: One week before the presidential election, the Paley Center and the Writers Guild of America East have formed a winning ticket, assembling this dynamic panel of topical comedians for a provocative, insightful, and sometimes just downright hilarious look at the state of political comedy in 2012 America.

Presented with Writers Guild of America East

Moderator: Jason Zinoman, Comedy Critic, The New York Times
