HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN (TV)
Summary
One in this series of special presentations by Hallmark. This live action musical adaptation of the off-Broadway hit uses songs and vignettes to bring to life the personalities from Charles Schultz's "Peanuts" comic strip. The forlorn yet hopeful Charlie Brown struggles with his shyness and his terrible baseball team as he dreams of befriending the little red-headed girl. The bombastic Lucy complains that she is not crabby, while she plans a romance with the reluctant pianist Schroeder. Lucy's brother, Linus, boldly philosophizes about life while clinging to his trusted security blanket. Charlie Brown's dog, Snoopy, fights the fiendish Red Baron when he is not fantasizing about suppertime or hunting rabbits with Patty. The characters' performances include the following: "The Red Baron," by Snoopy; "Book Report," by Charlie, Lucy, Linus, and Schroeder; "Kite," by Charlie; "Suppertime," by Snoopy; "My Blanket and Me," by Linus; "Little Known Facts," by Lucy, Linus, and Charlie; "Schroeder" by Lucy; "The Doctor Is In," by Lucy and Charlie. Additionally, the entire cast sings "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," "The Baseball Game," and "Happiness." Commercials deleted.
