Hmmm . . . A stylish Fox series about two young, attractive people—one male and one female—investigating paranormal mysteries, all somehow linked to a vast conspiracy . . . anyone sensing a “pattern” here? We speak not of The X-Files but of Fringe, a beguiling “jumble of horror, thriller and comedy that is not afraid to reference SpongeBob and Altered States in practically the same scene,” per Mary McNamara of the Los Angeles Times. Aussie lass Anna Torv starring as FBI agent Olivia Dunham; Dawson’s Creek alum Joshua Jackson as her wisecracking partner Peter Bishop; and John Noble—Denethor in Lord of the Rings—as Peter’s dad Walter, a literally mad scientist sprung from an asylum to help with the investigations. TV wunderkind J.J. Abrams (Lost, Alias, Felcity), created, along with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, his teammates on the upcoming Star Trek film.

    • For Anna and Josh: what are your thoughts about the relationship between Peter and Olivia, and where would you like to see it go? Should they remain friends or would you eventually like to see them together?
    • What's your favorite Fringe mystery so far, and/or which one are you dying to find out more about

  • Question for Anna Torv and/or John Noble: Hugh Laurie has often mentioned how mentally draining it is for him to speak in an American accent on House. It just wears on him to say things like "coronary artery" or similar phrases during a day of shooting. Do you find that to be true in your respective roles as American characters?

  • -Are you at all like your character? Like any other character? -Were you a Bad Robot -Lost, Alias, etc.- fan prior to joining the show? -What's currently on your iPod? -Are the blue flashes that appear on the show just for stylistic purposes, or is there something else behind them? Thanks!
