There’s a reason why Modern Family swept the 2011 Emmy Awards (copping the Outstanding Comedy Series statuette for the second year in a row) and won a 2012 Golden Globe and SAG Award: the show is a universal ode to big, messy families and the everyday things that happen to them (and us!). MF seemed near-perfect when it premiered in September ’09, but now—with more of a focus on the kids (i.e., “new Lily” plus a quartet of knowing teens who rival the eighties Cosby Show kids)—it reigns supreme. Or as USA Today so boldly proclaims, “Not since Frasier has a sitcom offered such an ideal blend of heart and smarts, or proven itself so effortlessly adept at so many comic variations, from subtle wordplay to big-laugh slapstick to everything in between.”

This is for either Eric Stonestreet or Jesse Tyler. You guys are always quoted in interviews as really having a true love bewteen you off screen. Are you really such good friends or is that just a line for the press?

This question is for Eric Stonestreet. What does the tattoo on his forearm say?

Question for all: Do you believe that sitcom characters can grow and change or is it funnier for them to always stay the same?

Has a plot line ever reminded you of aspects of your own "modern family"?

For each actor: out of the characters, who would be you best friends with, who would you punch, and who would you marry?
