Nick, Schmidt, and Winston could do a lot worse than having Jess Day to share the rent. A quirky twentysomething with a most unique sense of self, Jess—while recovering from a bad break-up—quickly ingratiates herself with her three new roommates, who offer their very “male” idea of support, while dealing with their own unsteady lives. Starring the delectable Zooey Deschanel, creator Elizabeth Meriwether’s Fox sitcom is one of the most welcomed and critically praised of all new series. “Smart writing, confident timing, and characters that are both familiar yet surprisingly fresh,” raved the Los Angeles Times’s Mary McNamara, “make New Girl the most promising comedy, and one of the most promising shows, of the season.”

  • Nick and Jess are AMAZING together. And as others have already mentioned in the comments section, I'd also like to know if Nick and Jess were a planned pairing from the start? Or if they were later developed because Jake and Zooey had such fantastic chemistry together?

Another Question: Lots of shows wait for years to get a main couple together. I'm just wondering if Liz is also planning to do the same with Nick and Jess? Personally, I think waiting for years to get a couple together makes the fans frustrated and a bit anxious.

I think it would actually be more interesting and fun to SHOW Nick and Jess in an actual relationship with each other because their personalities are quite opposite. He believes that people are the worst while she sees the good in everyone. So the storyline potential is endless for Nick and Jess as a couple in a relationship.

It would be fun to see Nick and Jess as a couple facing numerous challanges from being so different from each other. And having different outlooks on life in general.

Keep up the amazing work, Liz! And the whole cast is fabulous!

  • What is the back story with the nesting cat on the roof that Schmidt is afraid of??? Will it be a reaccuring character on the show?

  • Will we ever see/hear of Coach again, or did he fall off the face of the earth?

  • I love the chemistry between Jake's "Nick" and Zooey's "Jess." Was the Nick/Jess eventual pairing (hint hint) planned, or did this develop after Jake and Zooey were on screen together?
