Summary

A "Demonstration of Television Recording" presented by NBC for its affiliates. Begins with a technical explanation of TV followed by excerpts from past WNBT-TV (N.Y.) broadcasts: ventriloquist Paul Winchell; a comedy routine by pitchman Sid Stone; a dance routine; Shakespeare's "Henry V" with Sam Wanamaker; and a remote baseball broadcast from N.Y.'s Polo Grounds. Also included: pop singer Kyle McDonnell; Richard Harkness' 1948 interview with Taft-Hartley, co-sponsor Rep. Fred A. Hartley, Jr. (R-N.J.); and an excerpt from the first televised concert of Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra as they perform an excerpt from Wagner's "Die Walkure." Grauer closes. This demonstration was prepared by the engineering development group of NBC.
