PSYCH: A VERY JULIET EPISODE (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy/mystery series about a man whose acute observational skills convince others that he has psychic powers, allowing him to run a "psychic detective agency" in Santa Barbara with his best friend from childhood.
This episode opens in 2003 in a Los Angeles train station as Jules bids goodbye to college boyfriend Scott Seaver before she departs for Miami. As her train leaves, the two decide to meet in the same spot seven years later. Back in the present, Jules returns to the station on the appointed day and is mystified when Scott never shows up. At work, she gets romantic advice from Carlton and Karen before asking Shawn and Gus to track down Scott. With assistance from Henry, Shawn is led to believe that Scott died under mysterious circumstances in a car in the California desert.
When Shawn subsequently makes inquiries on the computer, the U.S. Treasury Department is alerted and Federal Marshall Daniel Wayne departs to find Shawn. In the meantime, Carlton discovers that Scott had been employed in a company owned by mobster J.T. Waring. Shawn asks Jules for details about Scott, after which he and Gus follow clues to a suburban house -- where they find the still-alive Scott. At the police station, Scott and Jules reunite, right before Daniel arrives to reveal that Scott has been in a witness relocation program. The group is told that Scott provided the evidence on a federal agent's murder that sent J.T. to prison.
Scott then refuses Daniel's offer of a new identity, stating that he wants to stay with Jules. Gus and Shawn go to prison to see J.T., who already knows about Scott's release. In return for not having his thugs kills Scott, J.T. asks Shawn to prove that he was falsely accused of the murder. Going back to the scene of the crime with Scott, the guys see the lost bullet that killed the federal agent. But before they can secure it, a gunman fires at them. When returning with backup, Shawn finds that the bullet is gone.
The next day, Shawn learns that Scott has agreed to go back into witness protection. As Scott drives off with Daniel, Shawn gets a vision which indicates that Daniel killed the federal agent, then framed J.T. After giving chase on a motorcycle, Shawn makes the vehicle pull over and accuses Daniel of accidentally killing his federal colleague. Daniel admits his guilt and the two engage in a deadly fight until Scott hits Daniel on the head with a metal pipe.
Following Daniel's arrest, Jules returns to the train station with Scott. There, the two agree that they have to think about their relationship. As Scott's train pulls out, the pair opts to meet at the station in one year to decide their future. Commercials deleted.
