Summary
One in this comedy/sci-fi series about the Weavers, a New Jersey family living in a gated community full of oddball extraterrestrials.
In this episode, the Weavers are excited to have an ideal Halloween experience in their new fancy neighborhood, though Larry Bird prepares to "rain hellfire and fury" on the costumed "invaders." Debbie and Marty, who have long-standing Halloween traditions with their kids, attempt to explain that the holiday is merely harmless fun for children. Amber reluctantly decides to eschew her usual politically themed costumes and "sex up" her image for once. Debbie and Marty are crestfallen when Max decides to trick-or-treat with his new friends instead of his family and a nervous Abby resolves to stop holding her parents' hands while visiting neighbors. Though Larry remains skeptical about the "evil" holiday, the other aliens eagerly ask the Weavers for trick-or-treating lessons.
Marty and Debbie are horrified by Amber's – and Reggie's – "sexy nurse" get-ups, and Dick Butkus arrives dressed as Jackie, complete with obedient Marty puppet. The aliens retreat in fear when Larry Bird allows the ravenous local children through the gates, but Jackie Joyner-Kersee urges Larry Bird to demonstrate his well-honed leadership skills. His alien followers are reassured when he begins handing out candy to the cute kids without incident. Marty and Debbie are relieved when Max, Abby and Amber eventually return to their usual family-centric Halloween habits, though Larry and Jackie are alarmed by Dick and Reggie's passionate new love for the holiday. Commercials deleted.
