Summary
One in this drama series about a pair of young New Yorkers struggling to break in to the fashion industry.
Rachel wakes up next to Ben and he thinks she is trying to sneak out. They share an awkward goodbye as she walks off. He and Cam attempt to turn Rene into the police, but they find that his stolen truck has been insured as a work of art and that there are no witnesses who will speak out against him. Cam calls Haraki and lies to him about an upcoming shipment of shirts, claiming that he will be coming around that night to deliver them. Ben learns about this and calls Cam, but he is not permitted to pick up his phone while working for Rene. Cam attempts to convince Jabar to help him reclaim the stolen truck, but he and Rene prevent this from happening. Cam tells Rene that his t-shirts were on the truck when it was stolen, but he still refuses to help. Cam gets in touch with Ben and tells him that he believes that Rene is behind the theft of the truck. They decide to confront Rene together. Meanwhile, Rachel goes to see Edie and Darren, and Rachel announces to them that she’s quitting. They are bewildered and upset by this, but Rachel is insistent that she cannot work for them and tells Darren that they may no longer have a relationship. She reveals that she slept with Ben the previous night, leaving Darren speechless.
Rene helps out at his local church and speaks with his pastor about his “urges” towards criminal action. The pastor gives him advice on how to deal with his anger. Ben goes to see Julie and tells her that he cannot go on their road trip, and she feels that he is “uncomfortable” around her. He explains that he is remaining behind in order to keep Cam safe since he is about to “do something crazy.” That night, Ben and Cam confront Rene in his office about the stolen t-shirts and ask him to return them. Rene insists that he had nothing to do with it and that he has no desire to commit a third felony. Cam becomes quite angry and demands that Rene return their shirts. Rene keeps his anger in check and gives Cam a “pass,” but warns him never to bring up the shirts or the truck again. They go out drinking with David, who assures them that they will be fine. He says that his investment strategy has been to “get rich slow” and increase his investments incrementally. While walking home Ben runs into Wilfredo and asks him where he has been, but Wilfredo seems to act erratically, referring to Ben as “Donald” and claiming that someone is trying to kill him. He claims his brother stole his skateboard deck and leaves, still behaving strangely.
Rene enters Cam’s room while he is asleep and wakes him up, taking him to the docks to return his truck. This confirms Cam’s suspicions that Rene stole it, and Rene admits that he did so as part of an insurance fraud scheme to pay back a loan. He offers to give back the t-shirts, but only if Cam will help destroy the truck to help Rene commit insurance fraud. Cam reluctantly complies, and they watch the truck burn together. Rachel tells Ben that she has decided to travel abroad for a time until she can determine what she wants to do with her life. They talk about their romantic encounter and Ben wishes her good luck in her travels. Cam and Ben deliver the shirts to Haraki’s people as promised. They discuss what they intend to do with their newfound money.
