HOTWIVES, THE: HOTWIVES OF LAS VEGAS, THE: WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS ... SERIOUSLY, WHAT HAPPENS THERE? {SEASON TWO PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series parodying the “Real Housewives” reality shows, featuring a group of vain housewives and their various interactions.

Jenfer prepares for her wedding to Ace, although she still feels out-of-place due to missing part of her finger. Although she does not acknowledge it, Ace is only marrying her in order to gain media exposure. Meanwhile, self-proclaimed “Vegas royalty” “First Lady” Stephanie, widow of the honorary “mayor” of the Las Vegas Strip, lives an affluent life under the delusion that she has some measure of importance to the city. She talks about her creation of a line of diet food for anorexic women, and about going to Jenfer’s upcoming wedding. She is uneasy because she used to be engaged to Ace, who left her because their “storyline” ended. She believes that Jenfer did not begin her relationship with Ace until after they broke up. Former model Ivanka is living vicariously through her daughter, an infant whom she is trying to get into modeling. She identifies herself as “perfect” and “beautiful,” believing that her friends are jealous of her. Her husband Vance headlines a Vegas show involving the use of large bubble wands. She visits Vance’s sister Callie, who has just moved to Las Vegas. Callie, a Wiccan who recently divorced her Catholic husband, feels that Ivanka is too “judgmental” of her lifestyle. Ivanka is also uncomfortable with the “close” relationship between Callie and Vance, which she suspects may be of an incestuous nature.

Leona, a strip club owner and self-appointed “matriarch” of the wives, elects to focus on her business instead of interfering in the constant bickering between the wives. She has invited her neighbor Denise into the group, as she feels she needs more social contact. Denise is an extremely lonely recently divorced woman who is desperately seeking affection and companionship after driving away her ex-husband by making him feel inferior. She and Leona plan to attend Jenfer’s wedding together. Leona warns her about the other women and insults them. Phe Phe arrives for the wedding as well, explaining that she has just moved to Las Vegas and has become a judge in her own television courtroom television show. She has also married Adonis, a convicted felon she met on her show who is now her producer. However, Phe Phe is unaware that Adonis is taking advantage of her financially. Jenfer calls Phe Phe before the wedding and says that she is having doubts about it, but Phe Phe reassures her that things will work out.

The ceremony begins at a Vegas chapel, and Ace insists on walking down the aisle last, complete with his own theme music. The wedding is officiated by a ventriloquist and his dummy. Denise interrupts the ceremony to go up to the altar to take pictures, and is shocked when she finds that Phe Phe has taken her seat. They get into an argument and it soon spreads to the other assembled guests, resulting in Jenfer experiencing an emotional outburst and running out of the chapel. The fighting amongst the remaining guests intensifies. Despite this, First Lady believes that everyone is going to get along this year. Commercials deleted.
