WILSON: DAVID AND GOLIATH {THE SUPER BOWL: SUPER
SHOWCASE FOR COMMERCIALS, 1995}
Summary
This commercial for Wilson sporting goods draws on the Biblical story of David and Goliath and the conventions of Hollywood movie epics to make a point about having the right tool for the job. As a large well equipped army of mercenaries lines up to oppose a smaller army of peasants, a small boy playing the role of David steps forward with a sling shot in his hands. Before Goliath can stop him, David kills him with a well-aimed stone bearing the Wilson logo. Slogan (supered): "Wilson. The right equipment makes the difference."
