BURGER KING: VIA SATELLITE {ADWEEK: BEST SPOTS OF
DECEMBER 1997}
Summary
In this tongue-in-cheek commercial for Burger King, a claymation-animated talk show host is interviewing the potato that came up with the idea of free "Fry-days" at Burger King. The announcer interrupts the interview to explain that Burger King french fries beat McDonald's fries in a recent national taste test. When the talk show host reappears, he asks why Burger King is giving the fries away. "It's giving something back," explains the potato, with mock sincerity. "I started from the ground up." Slogan (superted): "Burger King. The taste that beat McDonald's fries."
