DUBLIN: A HELLUVA TOWN: ST. PATRICK'S DAY SPECIAL (TV)

Summary

This documentary special follows "Match Game" host Gene Rayburn as he tours Dublin, Ireland, learning about its culture and people.

Rayburn starts at the outdoor market on Moore Street and chats with outspoken local "queen" Rose, who has been selling produce and flowers for 68 years, and other vendors. After a stop at a "singing pub," Rayburn rides the city bus, where the conductor is known for his personable nature and friendships with the regulars; he explains the local farmers' superstitious policies regarding "fairy rings." He next attends a cèilidh (public dance), and he attempts to learn some of the traditional steps from Bernadette, one of the dancers. Finally, Rayburn interviews a man on the street who waxes poetic as he describes the beauty of early mornings in Dublin. Commercials deleted.
