FALL GUY, THE: REUNION (TV)
Summary
One in this series of action/adventure programs about a movie stuntman who uses his skills to track down real-life criminals. Jody and Howie persuade Colt to go to his 25-year high school reunion in his hometown of Hazaltine, Texas. There, he runs into several familiar faces, such as his old friend Jay Taylor, now a jeweler, and his high school nemesis Phil Talbot, now the sheriff of Hazaltine. He is most interested in seeing Jay's little sister Laura, his high school sweetheart. He meets her and discovers that after college she became a police officer, but was blinded in the line of duty and now works as a criminal psychology consultant for the police department. They share a dance and recall their time in high school together when Colt asked her to elope with him, only for her to refuse. Jay brings Les out to display an attaché case filled with jewelry he's transporting to Dallas, and Colt and Laura decide to accompany them. A pair of thieves arrives and robs Jay of the case; Colt attempts to fight them off but they get away. Jay and Les go inside to fetch Phil while Colt gives chase accompanied by Laura. Colt chases the thieves until they shoot out one of his tires, thus evading him. Afterwards, Laura discusses her police career with Colt, and points out that Jay apparently forgot his personal alarm that he carries during deliveries such as this one. Unbeknownst to them, Jay is working in conjunction with the robbers; his plan is to split the jewels with the thieves and collect the massive insurance bonus from their theft. However, the thieves want a cut of the insurance money and Jay refuses. He leaves, but the thieves vow to somehow get Jay to give them the insurance money anyway. The next day, the reunion continues with a barbeque. Colt continues to talk to Laura about her blindness; she says that while the first few years were difficult, she eventually learned to move on with her life. Phil gives Colt a warning to stay out of police business, and Colt discovers that Jay filed his police report much later than he said he would. The thieves arrive and kidnap Laura, driving away. Phil and Colt both give chase, but Phil yells at Colt to get out of his way. Phil forces Colt's van to the side of the road and both cars crash, resulting in a fiery explosion. Colt and Phil, unharmed, get into an argument and Phil warns Colt to stay out of his way. Laura tries to fight her kidnappers, but is unsuccessful. They soon realize that she is blind and don't consider her a threat. Secretly, Laura uses her pin and nametag to poke out a message in Braille. Colt returns to Jay empty-handed. He soon gets Jay to admit that he was working with the thieves in order to get enough money to pay off his gambling debts. Jay insists that the kidnapping was not part of his plan and wants Colt's help in rescuing Laura. Meanwhile, Laura briefly manages to get the two thieves, Reese and Borden, to fight amongst themselves while she attempts to escape, unsuccessfully. The thieves call Jay and work out a deal with him: instead of giving them the insurance money, they agree to accept a large number of additional valuable jewelry pieces he has in his shop on consignment. They arrange a meeting in an hour, and the thieves threaten to kill Laura if they bring the police. Phil stops Colt and Jay and insists on handling the matter, but they ask him not to for Laura's safety. Colt has a fistfight with Phil while Jay goes to meet the thieves, managing to knock down and handcuff Phil. Jay meets with Borden expecting to exchange the jewels for Laura, but Borden says there is a change of plans and forces Jay to accompany him back to the hideout. Laura manages to escape from the hideout and rushes off into the woods. Reese gives chase but Laura gets a ride back to town with a passerby. Phil escapes and puts out an alert for Phil and Jay. Laura gets in contact with Colt and meets with him, explaining that she wrote the directions to the thieves' hideout in Braille and can use it to intercept them. As Colt and Laura track them down, the thieves prepare to leave the state with Jay. Phil chases Colt and Laura in his cruiser, and soon all three parties meet at the same location. Jay escapes while Colt and Phil incapacitate the thieves, and Phil commends Colt for a job well done. The episode ends as the last day of the reunion comes to a close, and Colt and Laura share one last romantic moment together. Commercials deleted.
