PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE: STORE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of children's programs starring madcap host Pee-wee Herman, featuring animation, puppets, and vintage cartoons. In this episode, Mrs. Rene takes Pee-Wee's exercise belt for a spin, and Corky 2000 reveals the secret word: "more." Pee-Wee prepares a snack, frozen fruit cubes, by pouring various flavors of juice into an ice cube tray and allowing it to freeze. Cowboy Curtis stops by with an addition to Pee-Wee's rubber-band ball, and they jump into Magic Screen and ride a hand car down a train track, narrowly avoiding the train as it speeds out of a tunnel. Reba the mailwoman arrives, and though she is skeptical of their recent adventure, she soon finds herself dodging the train as well when she jumps into Magic Screen. Reba gives Pee-Wee some pen-pal letters, including a message from Olivia in Australia which includes a boomerang.

Next, in the "Penny" cartoon, Penny ponders life with a twin sister. Curtis plays a song on his guitar, and when Miss Yvonne stops by, she and Curtis pretend to be a married couple browsing through Pee-Wee's department store. They learn that the store is having a furniture sale, and quickly decide to buy Chairry for the low price of "a million billion dollars." The King of Cartoons arrives and introduces a short feature about a music recording session, and Pee-Wee retrieves the now-frozen fruit cubes and shares them with his friends. Commercials deleted.
