Summary
One in this comedy series about a cantankerous garage owner and his wisecracking Chicano assistant.
In this unaired episode, Monica bids farewell to Ed, Louie and Raul as she heads for Hollywood, though Ed sternly warns her not to hitchhike with strangers. His pals inform him that he "worries too much." Monica soon returns to the garage with some new "friends": Digger, Claw and Hog, a trio of tough bikers who immediately find the disapproving Ed to be "inhospitable." The tense encounter is interrupted by the arrival of the bikers' revered leader, "Chongo," whom the other are shocked to find is a take-charge, no-nonsense lady.
Ed, Louie, Raul and Monica wonder how best to send the hoodlums on their way, but only Monica manages to stand up to the formidable Chongo – and Chongo, impressed with Monica's determination to defend her honorary family, praises her loyalty. Ed finally recognizes Chongo as Lavinia Pemberton, a neighborhood kid with whom he bonded many years ago, and they happily reunite. Digger, Claw and Hog decide that Chongo is "going soft" and try to oust her as their leader – but she handily puts them in their places and decides to spend time with her new "gang" instead. Commercials deleted.
