SEINFELD: THE STALL (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series set in New York City in which comedian Jerry Seinfeld plays himself. Humorous situations in his personal life are interspersed with brief stand-up comedy routines.

In this episode, in the ladies' room at the movies, Elaine is outraged when the woman in the stall next door refuses to "spare a square." She complains to her date, handsome Tony, unaware that the woman, Jane, is also sharing the story with her own guy, Jerry. Jerry makes the unfortunate connection when Elaine relates the anecdote back at home, while at the same time Kramer, a.k.a. "Andre," becomes obsessed with chatting with women on "those 976 numbers." Jerry informs Elaine that Tony is little more than a "male bimbo," and George, somewhat smitten with "cool guy" Tony, is annoyed when Kramer horns in on their rock-climbing man-date.

George begins to panic on the rock face and, when he attempts to retrieve a sandwich, he and Kramer accidentally send Tony plummeting to the ground. Jerry desperately attempts to keep Elaine from recognizing Jane's "flinty" voice as that of the toilet-paper criminal. Elaine is horrified to learn that Tony has damaged his attractive face, possibly permanently, in the accident for which he blames a distraught George. Jane meets Kramer, who is astounded to recognize his phone pal, "Erica," and Jerry soon ruins things with her by accusing her of peddling phone sex. Elaine, wondering if she is obligated to continue dating a "hideous freak," finally gets her revenge on Jane. Commercials deleted.
