OZ: SECRET IDENTITIES (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas set in the Oswald Maximum Security Penitentiary, nicknamed "Oz."
In this episode, Beecher notices a strange dynamic between Keller and Sister Pete, and Sister Pete attempts to facilitate a meeting between Alvarez and Officer Rivera, who demands an explanation for why Alvarez blinded him. Unable to explain, Alvarez offers a quiet apology, though Rivera is not yet ready to forgive. Keller admits to skipping his appointments with Sister Pete because of his unusually vulnerable confession at their last meeting; though she dismisses his claims of having changed as a person, she tells Father Ray that she has been experiencing feelings of lust and intends to leave the convent. Glynn tosses El Cid and Ricardo into solitary when they refuse to answer questions about their drug business. Though he allows Ricardo's desperate sister to write him a letter, another guard scornfully trashes it. Hughes returns to Oz with his mother, who happily greets Glynn, though Father Ray tells Whittlesey about Gillis' shocking claim that Glynn actually killed Hughes' father Sam.
Whittlesey is injured in a library brawl between Hughes and Ryan. When Father Ray urges him to consider a "confession," Glynn tells Hughes that he is partially to blame for his father's death, which occurred during a prisoner fight. Whittlesey defiantly kisses McManus in front of a jealous Howell. Ginzburg proudly finishes typing up Nappa's "In Cold Blood"-esque memoirs — which he then immediately sends to the Italians, later smothering Nappa in his sleep. Adebisi announces that McManus has sexually harassed Bricks, to which Bricks reluctantly agrees. Glynn, aware of Howell's existing complaints against McManus, considers firing him. Adebisi then calls the local news and reports the shocking tale, thus further humiliating McManus. Bellinger reveals that her final appeal has been denied and decides to be executed by hanging, which she feels has a certain "lyricism" — but she is then found to be pregnant.
Ryan declines to bet on the latest fight, this time between Cramer and Khan, the winner of which will go on to fight Cyril. After the bout, Khan is determined the winner by split decision, angering the Aryans and various others. Adebisi visits Said and urges him to join his brotherhood, suggesting that his new friend Beecher cannot protect him. Said, urging Beecher to forgive both Keller and Schillinger, declares himself newly "humbled" and seems to accept whatever fate might befall him. Beecher finally reunites with Keller and forgives him, though jealous Keller immediately asks Ryan about having Said killed. Beecher then tries to make amends with Schillinger, offering to help him track down his still-missing son. A chaotic fight breaks out in which Beecher and Schillinger are both stabbed, leaving Hill to wonder who any of them truly are, deep down.
