LAVERNE & SHIRLEY: MURDER ON THE MOOSEJAW EXPRESS {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

Continues from B:63668. One in this comedy series about two young working women, following their humorous adventures from the 1950s through the 1960s.

In this episode, the porter thinks Laverne is crazy when he can't find Shirley's body in the compartment. Later, Lenny and Squiggy bring the dead man's corpse to Laverne, having stumbled upon it in a crate in the baggage room. Once again, Laverne seeks out the porter, then returns to find an empty room, devoid of Lenny, Squiggy, and the corpse. In despair, Laverne starts to eat the film before a knock on the door signals the return of the missing Shirley. Wearing only a suit bag, Shirley tells of waking up naked in the baggage room. Laverne then deducts that the bald waiter is the killer and concocts a plan to capture him.

Laverne enters the dining car with Shirley made up as an elderly bald man. The lecherous older passenger who earlier tangled with Squiggy joins them and introduces herself as Winifred. When the waiter enters the dining car, Laverne takes the film containing secret rocket ships photos from her purse. The waiter immediately demands the film, after which Winifred knocks him out and Laverne ties him up. When Shirley subsequently reveals her true identity, Winifred pulls off a wig and pulls out a gun, thus taking shape as the murderous bald man that put all the events in motion. He tells a shocked Laverne and Shirley that the waiter is actually an FBI man on his trail. As the girls scuffle with the killer, they unearth a bound-and-gagged Lenny and Squiggy. Lenny gets out of his ropes and dislodges the gun from the murderer's hand. The man then opens the train car's door and pushes Shirley to its outer frame. Laverne quickly launches into action, ultimately pushing the killer from the train as Shirley swings back in.

Upon arriving home, Laverne and Shirley are greeted by Carmine, Frank, and Edna, all of whom tell their "exciting" stories of what happened during the girls' absence. Laverne and Shirley downplay their own tale, half-heartedly noting that the killer was caught and sent to jail and that they've been recognized as heroes. Commercials deleted.
