ALIAS: REPRISAL / ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The series finale in this dramatic action series about CIA double agent Sydney Bristow and her adventures with her colleagues and her enemies. In this two-part episode, the team members spread out across the globe to surveil the twelve members of Prophet Five, determined to finally arrest them all. Elsewhere, Sloane meets with Sark and Kelly and suggests that they need to "solidify" their position within Prophet Five. Sydney works late into the night, worried about the prophecy surrounding the Rambaldi amulet about "the end of nature." Tom visits Rachel late at night and ends up kissing her, though he quickly leaves, embarrassed, and Sark arrives to kidnap Rachel as Kelly abducts Marshall. Sloane asks Marshall's help in finding Rambaldi's secret underground cavern and instructs Kelly to "persuade him" when he refuses. Sydney and Jack arrive at Marshall's home and break the news to Carrie that her husband is not a video game designer at all, while elsewhere Sark begins torturing Rachel. Dixon is sure that Sloane is behind the disappearances, and Jack sadly reflects on his long-misplaced trust in his old friend.
Carrie is brought to APO and immediately decodes Marshall's computer program for tracking Prophet Five, and Marshall continues to refuse Sloane's demands, saying that he will not let Mitchell down. Nadia's ghost appears to Sloane and points out that his methods will not work, so Sloane finds Sydney and tells her to save Marshall and Rachel's lives by convincing them to give in. Marshall gives Sydney a seemingly innocuous message for Carrie over the phone, but Carrie deduces that he is referring to Sloane's attempts to hack weather satellites and quickly monitors his actions. The team finds that Marshall and Rachel are being held in Ixtapa, and Sloane orders them both executed once they have completed their work, but Rachel engineers an escape and Sydney and Tom arrive just in time to save them. They realize that the twelve are assembling in Zurich, though Sloane is headed to Mount Subasio in Umbria, and Sydney and Vaughn follow him there. They scale the icy mountain and Vaughn carefully lowers Sydney into a crevasse, where she finds Sloane with the amulet. He reminds her of their former father/daughter-like relationship, while back in L.A. Marshall realizes that Sloane is also targeting APO via the subway system and Dixon orders a mass evacuation.
Kelly arrives at the Zurich meeting and guns down all twelve members, and Tom finds the bomb in the subway system and attempts to slow its countdown. Sloane tells Sydney to save herself, and Tom realizes that he cannot stop the timer and calls Rachel to confess his feelings for her just before the bomb detonates and kills him. Sloane shoots the ground at Sydney's feet and she falls through the ice, but Vaughn soon locates and revives her. Rachel is grief-stricken by Tom's demise, and in a flashback, Jack tells a young Sydney about Irina's "death" in a car accident. Sloane reunites with Sark and Kelly, who gives him the Rambaldi Sphere, and Sark comments on the "global genocide" that Sloane is about to commit with the stolen missiles. Vaughn checks in from Siena and Dixon breaks the news about the bombing and Tom's death, and in the past young Sydney constructs a figure out of blocks and Jack, startled, tells her that they are used for an "indicator test" and that she is clearly special. Vaughn tends to Sydney's injuries as she frets about finding Sloane, but she then gets an idea to locate him by tracing the Prophet Five members' money.
They manage to track down Kelly and, after exploiting her greatest fear, learn that Sloane intends to target two large cities with the missiles in order to profit from the aftermath, and Sydney deduces that Sloane is in Mongolia. A college-age Sydney chats with her friend Francie about a party that will be attended by a certain Danny, but she is then visited by a man from the CIA. In present day, Sydney reminds Rachel that she is out of danger with Prophet Five dead, but she remains committed to the mission. Sloane enters a cave in Mongolia and, "aided" by Nadia, places the Sphere into Rambaldi's tomb, causing a red orb to appear in midair. Sydney arrives, however, and threatens to destroy the Sphere, but Sark enters with Jack and Vaughn as his prisoners. Carrie and Marshall search for the missiles and find that someone in Hong Kong has uploaded a virus to attack the satellites, and Kelly admits that Sloane has a partner. When Sydney refuses to hand over the Sphere, Sloane shoots Jack, and Sydney finally shoots Sloane, leaving him seemingly dead in the tomb's pool. In a flashback, Sydney tells her father about her exciting new job at the "bank," though he reacts with anger and orders her to focus on school instead.
Sark escapes with the artifact and Vaughn calls for medical aid for a badly-injured Jack, and Sloane's partner is revealed to be none other than Irina. Jack, aware that he is dying, urges Sydney to go without him to Hong Kong to stop Irina, and she is devastated to realize that she will likely never see him again. Sark meets up with Irina, who instructs him to direct the missiles at London and Washington D.C., and Marshall is stunned to see that the countdown has begun. Sydney finds her mother in Hong Kong and Irina informs her that she has never truly appreciated Rambaldi, telling her that she can "live forever" if she believes. In the tomb, Sloane recovers from his injuries, proving that he is now immortal, and in a flashback, Sydney tells Sloane at SD-6 that she is confident that her work is her true "purpose." As they fight, Irina tells Sydney that she is too late to stop the plan, though elsewhere Vaughn finds Sark and Jack reappears in Rambaldi's tomb. Vaughn forces Sark to give him the override codes and Sark begs to be let go, stating that he never intended to cause global destruction, and Vaughn stops the missiles just in time. Jack agrees that he cannot kill Sloane, but declares that he can "keep him down here with him," and he triggers a set of explosives, killing himself and trapping Sloane underground. Nadia briefly appears to Sloane again, but then vanishes, leaving him alone for eternity. Irina tumbles onto a glass roof and reaches for the Sphere rather than accepting Sydney's hand, and she falls through the ceiling to her death.
Sometime later, Isabelle's "Uncle" Dixon, now the Deputy Director, arrives at Sydney and Vaughn's beach house and greets their new son, Jack. After noting that Carrie has had yet another baby, he presents the couple with a new case involving Sark, whom Vaughn let go after all. Isabelle constructs an odd-looking statue, suggesting that she too is "special," and the happy family goes for a stroll on the beach. Includes commercials and promos.
