Summary
A live Spanish-language broadcast of the reaction to the World Cup 1998 final match, in which France and Brazil compete for the title in Paris. In addition to giving their reaction to the French victory, the hosts of the program (Jorge Ramos, Hern‡n Pereyra, Reynaldo Barco, Alberto Gambetta, and Alvaro Riet) pause for news from Radio Unica. Items covered include stories about crimes committed by Sabatist guerrillas in Mexico, the strike of the Puerto Rico Telephone company, and other items related to Latin-American politics. The hosts invite commentary from a couple of Latin-American journalists and from football players including Carlos Reinoso of Mexico and Jorge Dasilveira of Uruguay. The consensus among these guests is that the French performed best in this particular match but did not necessarily constitute the best team in the entire championship. The hosts then present remarks by Brazilian commentator Mario Lugo Sagal, who is saddened by the Brazilian loss. They move on to play part of the post-game press conference held by Brazilian Coach Mario Zagallo, who appears terribly upset and leaves the conference extremely angry because of the disappointing performance of his team.
